PHB Construction

Corporate Social Responsibility

When it comes to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), PHB Construction is fully committed to its environment and community.

We always consider our business impact on the modern world. We work with our clients, employees and communities, to demonstrate our commitment to our CSR policies, which are based on five core principles:
  1. Environment – taking responsibility for the mark we make on the environment
  2. Health & Safety – developing policies and procedures to protect people
  3. People Development and Training – committing to our people’s personal and career development
  4. Community Involvement – engagement with and creation of opportunities for the communities in which we work
  5. Social Responsibility – devoting time and energy to charities
PHB supports a number of national and local charities; including The Kent Air Ambulance Trust, Breast Cancer Care and the Starlight Children's Foundation.

We are also extremely proud of the role that we play in supporting the Charlton Athletic Community Trust (CACT). PHB are official Patrons of CACT’s renowned 'Youth Achievement Foundation' programme, which aims to provide young people who have either been excluded or not attending mainstream education, the opportunity to gain National accreditation to help with employment prospects. Whilst enjoying an exclusive association with one of the most important strands of CACT’s work, we will be working closely with this programme in order to help provide work experience and job opportunities for these youngsters within our industry.

In recent years, we have also supported the ground-breaking 'Street Violence Ruins Lives' campaign, Rob Knox Charity and ‘Charlton Upbeats’, the sports development programme for young people with Down’s Syndrome.

Safeguarding the environment is a high priority at PHB and we are taking responsibility for the mark we make on the environment. We are committed to operating in a way that is mindful of the demand on our planet's limited resources.

Having gained ISO 9001 accreditation, enables our organisation to demonstrate its commitment to environmental responsibility, protection, standards, legislation and continuous improvement. Our processes and way of working also helps to reduce our use of energy and other resources, as well as increase staff motivation and improve its reputation. We are actively committed to a number of key initiatives targeted at reducing our impact on the environment including reducing our levels of energy consumption (including the use of renewable energy sources), aiming for a paper-free office culture, increasing the levels of recycling and increasing the use of biodegradable materials.
