PHB Construction

Case Study

Chadwick Road Doctors Surgery
Sector: Health and Education
Location: Chadwick Road, Peckham
Client: DMC Healthcare
Commencement Date: November 2010
Completion Date: March 2011
Summary:
Works consisted of the construction of a storage facility for confidential medical records and the construction of two consultation rooms to increase the patient capacity of the practice.
Project Background:
On behalf of DMC Healthcare, PHB constructed the storage facility building by utilising the existing footprint of the building. This maximised the available space to ensure the medical centre had sufficient capacity for their storage requirements.

Works included: the construction of a mezzanine floor to maximise the floor space, adaption of the air conditioning system, roof construction to maximise the usage of natural light, full redecoration, insulated flooring system and electrical opening roller shutter doors.

Works to the consultation rooms included: the supply and fitting of glass frontage partitions, hygienic grid ceiling system, the GP secure storage, cup–safety flooring, medical curtain, medical furniture plus full decoration and electrical installation to the newly built rooms.
The Challenge:
Maximising the limited space available to ensure the client received a cost effective refurbishment - which would increase both patient capacity and improve the onsite storage capacity - whilst ensuring the medical centre remained open and unaffected whilst major remodelling works were undertaken.
The Result:
PHB delivered the project on time, on budget and by completing the project to the clients high expectations have secured repeat business with a highly valued client.
